European motorhome Travel- Vanlife

Four season in one day or a French department…..

Verity the Volkswagen is neatly gracing the riverside tarmac of the official Motorhome site at the port of Soubise, somewhere just south of La Rochelle in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. (N 45.9283, W 1.00692)

Basically a day of trying to hide from the ever changing weather, at some point today we’ve been blessed with torrential rain, high winds, hail stones and now finally a dappling of blue skies, fingers crossed it stays that way !

I am pleased to announce that we are both nearly recovered from our recent bouts of ‘man flu’ so hopefully the sight seeing can resume, although we have had a really relaxing trip so far….

We are waters edge in what in the Spring, Summer would probably be an oversubscribed peace of perfection. We are a few feet from the small port and directly on the local cycle path

A quick nip up into the local village, shows it has everything a small France village needs an artisan boulangerie, a small Tabac and a massive church

So with picture perfect views and a path to follow by the stunning river we are set for an afternoon of watching the boats sail past, if that blue sky stays long enough !

Paul.
