Denia Vlog Part Seven – Cycling the Green Route

Michele and I are not hardy cyclists, so when we found a route that we thought we might just manage we had to give it a go !!

A beautiful but flat and easy cycling route is through the green way (via verde) in Denia which travels along the old railway track cutting through orange groves and farms with views of Montgo in the distance.

The train between Denia and Gandia was stopped more than 30 years ago, although there are constant campaigns to have it reinstated.

Now, the track has been turned into a beautiful green way between Denia and El Verde.

It’s a gravel track so suitable for walkers, cyclists, pushchairs and wheelchair users.

It’s a flat, comfortable path with orange groves on either side as well as palm trees and vines

There are picnic tables so you can have a rest while enjoying the solitude, or in our case steal an orange from the trees !

The path ends near El Verde, a stunning traditional spainish village

Please remember to subscribe to the YouTube channel for updates on our over winter stay in Spain.

If you plan to be in Denia area in March then you have the opportunity to see the spectacular “Fallas”.
The burnings (you will not believe it!) are always the 3rd Saturday in March; with Fallas build- up for the 2 weeks prior.
